Trekking in Bhutan

Trekking in Bhutan

Trekking in Bhutan is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Bhutan's stunning natural beauty and the relatively isolated nature of its trekking trails make the country a veritable paradise for trekkers.

Popular Bhutan Treks

The treks range from an easy three-day trip from Thimphu to Paro to more difficult multi-day treks like the legendary Snowman Trek. Popular treks include Druk Path Trek, Jomolhari Trek, Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek, Laya Gasa Trek, and many more.

Trekking Experience

On Bhutan treks, you will carry only essentials like water, a jacket, and a camera. Horses or yaks carry the rest of the equipment. Trekkers stay in two-person tents, while guides and cooks camp nearby to prepare hot meals. Trekking involves significant ascents and descents, often covering 8-9 hours per day at altitudes of 4000 to 4500 meters.

Nature & Wildlife

Bhutan trekking trails offer a unique blend of nature and cultural experiences. Expect to encounter vast grasslands, wildflowers, rare birds, and possibly blue sheep and Himalayan vultures.

The highlight of trekking in Bhutan is undoubtedly the majestic Himalayan views and the tranquility that allows for deep self-reflection.

Ensure to carry your sunscreen, warmers, hiking shoes, and other essentials.
